I’m Nancyand I can help you reach your goals.

I am a writer, coach and therapist and work with people of all ages, individually in couples or in groups and specializing in adolescence through adulthood. Many of my clients tend to be artists, healers, educators, administrators and other psychotherapists.

Though it’s true I have a lot of training in identifying problems, that won’t likely be the main reason you’ll want to work with me. My approach is different, supportive, focused on your strengths, solution- focused and grounded in positive psychology.

I use an eclectic blend of mind-body techniques, expressive therapies, and meditative and biofeedback practices to teach each person coping tools unique to his or her circumstance.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Wellness/Creativity Coach, Workshop Facilitator, Writer and Registered Poetry/Biblio Therapist and Mentor/Supervisor based in NY and CT.

Feel Better with
Writing and Experiential Methods

Why writing or acting? Creativity and flow are your natural state.

Research shows that putting your struggles on the page or enacting options brings perspective and objectivity and usually lessens symptoms. We often speak in the language of metaphors, so much so we may not even realize it.

The language that we choose matters. Have you ever said “I feel tongue tied,” “bottled up” or “free as a bird?” Your mind, body and spirit are not separate – true healing takes place when you create, express and transform your personal metaphors, either in action or in writing.

How you view and narrate the “story” of all that has happened to you influences how you live your life. Change this story and these metaphors, and you will also change your life!

I will teach you corrective gateways to transformation, to seeing yourself and your situation differently. Then you can move forward in a new way.

I use a variety of techniques to help you realize your full potential, such as:

  • Wellness, creativity or life coaching to propel you into active life change
  • Expressive Therapies – use your journal or the arts to explore solutions
  • Understanding the different parts of yourself through IFS (internal family systems)
  • Being aware and tracking your physical symptoms and their association with trauma/stress (Somatic Experiencing)
  • Understanding why your mind and body still remembers the past and how to shift memories (EMDR)
  • Learn to relax your body through hypnosis and biofeedback techniques (holistic psychotherapy)
  • Act out situations to get a different perspective (action methods of psychodrama)
  • By bringing mindfulness to the moment and/or body sensations, you can reduce your stress response or trauma-related symptoms

Together we will determine which tools are most helpful for you.

“From the outset as my coach, Nancy has shown me how to start living in the solution by helping me identify and set goals for myself in all the key areas of my life: my physical and emotional wellbeing, spiritually, and within my marriage, family and career. While she always makes sure that the goals I have set are realistic, she continually invites me to ‘dream big!’ I have learned how to leave behind my fears and step into the next chapter of my life with excited anticipation for what lies on the journey ahead.”
